Knapp eineinhalb Jahre sind vergangen, seit Peter Penko und Katrin Radmann uns mit ihrem dritten Album „Clarion´s End“ beglückt haben. Und was sich dort schon in der wunderschönen Adaption von „Devil In Disguise“ frei nach dem einzigen und wahren King angedeutet hat, findet hier nun seine Fortsetzung: ein Extendedplayer mit Coverversionen und höchstinteressanten Zerstreuungen aus der Eigenkompositionsmaschinerie der Slowenen, die derweil schon am nächsten regulären COPTIC RAIN-Album arbeitet.


Vier Songs von so unvergessenen Musikikonen wie den DOORS, SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES, U2 und X-MAL DEUTSCHLAND und dazu noch ein Auszug aus der Oper „Phantom Of The Opera“ werden von geübter Hand auf die 90er getrimmt. Das heißt dann also: typisch coptische Gitarren- und Bassdrumstakkatos gepaart mit Katrin Radmanns je nach Stimmung verzerrter, engelschorgleicher oder einfach nur wohlklingend klarer Stimme, ein wenig brekbeatig angehauchter Snaredrum und was noch so dazu gehört. Modern eben, locker, hart und schwer präsentiert das Duo uns das interessante Titelsuchspiel mit der Auswahl zwischen „People Are Strange“, auch bekannt aus dem Vampirfilmklassiker „Lost Boys“, damals allerdings auch schon als DOORS-Cover gespielt von ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN, „Fantom“ aus der Oper, SIOUXSIEs „Painted Bird“, das es gleich in drei Versionen über die Platte verstreut zu hören gibt, U2s „Bullet The Bue Sky“ und  X-MALs wunderbarem „Polarlicht“. Von der Konzeption her zwingt einen die verweigerte genaue Trackliste interessanterweise, sich genauer mit der „Discovery-e.p“. zu beschäftigen, falls man denn wissen will, welcher Song unter welcher der zwölf möglichen Nummern zu finden ist. Zur besseren Desorientierung haben Penko und Radmann dann noch ein paar versprengte Soundspielereien mit um die 20 Sekunden Länge einfließen lassen. Ein schönes Spiel mit hervorragendem Soundtrack, der nur von allzu interessierten Fingereien an der CD-Fernbedienung hin und wieder unterbrochen wird. Am PC war nicht so viel zu hören, geschweige denn zu finden, aber alles in allem darf man sich endlich mal wieder an einer sehr guten und auch anspruchsvollen Platte erfreuen, auf der es viel zu entdecken gibt.
